About us
Maharashtra Mandal Qatar (MMQ) is an affiliated body of the Indian Cultural Center, operating under the aegis of the Embassy of India , Doha, Qatar. Established in 1997, MMQ is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and cherishing the distinctive cultural heritage of Marathi-speaking people from Maharashtra, India, residing in Qatar. The organization’s mission is to preserve and pass on their culture and traditions to the next generation.
Since its inception, MMQ has grown from a small group of founding members to over 1,500 members. Throughout the year, MMQ arranges various entertainment programs featuring professional artists and MMQ council members. Festivals like Diwali, Makar Sankranti, Chaitra Maas, Navaratri, and Maharashtra Day are celebrated with a focus on customs, rituals, and traditions, while ensuring compliance with local laws.
In addition to cultural events, MMQ organizes activities such as sports leagues, Yoga Day, and medical camps to engage members with diverse interests. Over time, MMQ has initiated several impactful projects, including MMQ Bhramangatha, MMQ Dhol Tasha Pathak, MMQ Granthalay, and MMQ Natya Karyashala.
महाराष्ट्र मंडळ कतार ही भारतीय सांस्कृतिक केंद्राची (ICC) संलग्न संस्था आहे, जी कतारमधील दोहा येथे भारतीय दूतावासाच्या (Embassy Of India) मार्गदर्शनाखाली कार्यरत आहे. महाराष्ट्र मंडळ कतार, १९९७ साली स्थापन करण्यात आले होते. याचे उद्दिष्ट महाराष्ट्राचा सांस्कृतिक वारसा जपणे आणि त्याचा आनंद घेणे आहे, तसेच आपली संस्कृती आणि परंपरा पुढील पिढीपर्यंत पोहोचवणे आहे.
वर्षभर मंडळ विविध मनोरंजन कार्यक्रम आयोजित करते, जे व्यावसायिक कलाकार आणि स्थानिक सदस्यांच्या सहभागातून सादर केले जातात. मराठी सांस्कृतिक वारसा पुढील पिढीपर्यंत पोहोचवण्यासाठी दिवाळी, मकर संक्रांत आणि चैत्र महोत्सव असे सण साजरे केले जातात, ज्यात आपल्या रूढी, परंपरा आणि संस्कारांवर विशेष लक्ष दिले जाते. हे करताना, स्थानिक कायदे योग्य प्रकारे पाळले जातात. मंडळाने काही प्रभावी प्रकल्प सुरू केले आहेत जसे की MMQ भ्रमणगाथा, MMQ ढोल ताशा पथक, MMQ ग्रंथालय, आणि MMQ नाट्य कार्यशाळा.

Mission
To transmit Marathi cultural heritage to the next generation, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of our rich culture and heritage.
Objectives
- To maintain Marathi culture, Maharashtrian values, and traditions by organizing musical concerts, staging dramas, dance performances, live interviews, and field trips.
- To encourage youth participation in various social and cultural activities.
- To reach out to every individual in Qatar who speaks Marathi or is interested in becoming part of Maharashtrian culture
